Le Corbusier’s urban visions and projects in the interwar period are by turns fascinating and disconcerting. Seeing them within their historical context sheds light on the architect as witness, critic, and key participant in an era when architecture became a means of totalitarian self-expression. While focusing on the past, the exhibition also points to a present in which the mutual attraction between architecture and authority continues unabated.
