The trained graphic designer and poster artist Eric Andersen (b. 1981) produces his works through elaborate manual processes, using traditional printing techniques such as woodcut, silkscreen, linocut, and letterpress in such an original and creative way that his political posters in particular are regularly acquired for the Poster Collection of the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich. In addition to posters, Andersen also designs books and program cards for Zurich music clubs. For the Circle of Friends, he has developed a set of five risographs. In this stencil duplication process, the ink is applied to the paper in a similar way as in screen printing, without the use of chemicals and heat. The edition is based on lyrically surreal collages of architectural and body fragments, which Andersen compiled from his own rich store of images.
